OLD TAUNTON COLONY CLUB
Rules regarding
Removal of Trees, Branches and Debris or Personal Property
from the Lake or OTCC Common Property
It is the responsibility of every lake-front property owner to remove downed trees and branches which fall into the lake from his or her property. In addition to trees and branches, any other debris (such as furniture, watercraft, and any other debris that is not a part of the natural lake bottom which falls into the lake) shall be removed by the property owner. This is to include any debris, even if carried there by wind or water currents, beavers, or other means.
In the case of trees or large branches which remain attached or are in no imminent danger of floating away, removal shall be completed within one year of the date the material fell into the lake. In the case of items which are capable of floating away, removal shall be completed as soon as practicable, but in no event later than one week. Failure to remove any item within the specified time may result in its removal and/or disposal by the OTCC at the expense of the property owner by way of an assessment.
Any debris or personal property deposited, left or abandoned on any Common Property owned by the Club shall be removed immediately. Failure to do so may result in its removal and/or disposal by the OTCC at the expense of the owner of the debris or personal property so deposited by way of an assessment. This provision does not apply to resident-owned canoe(s) stored on Club canoe racks except in cases where the Club has directed that the canoe (s) be removed.
